Weezer released a new song entitled “Feels Like Summer” worldwide on March 17th. On March 21st, Weezer performed the single on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Following the band’s Grammy-nominated album “White Album,” which saw them expanding their classic sound in bold new directions, “Feels Like Summer” is the first taste of Weezer’s forthcoming eleventh album entitled “The Black Album”, due for release this Summer.
“We decided to skip spring entirely and go straight to summer,” they wrote on their website. “Our new single ‘Feels Like Summer’ from our forthcoming album (coming this summer) is out now in North America.”
Weezer was formed in Los Angeles in 1992 and consists of members Rivers Cuomo (lead vocals, guitar), Patrick Wilson (drums), Brian Bell (guitar, backing vocals, keyboards) and Scott Shriner (bass guitar, backing vocals). Weezer has sold 9.2 million albums in the US and over 17 million worldwide.
Weezer will be embarking on a full European tour this fall, their first since 2005, in addition to headlining London’s prestigious Wembley Arena this October. Prior to that, the band have dates booked across North America through September. This includes a 10-day tour of Canada beginning March 31st and numerous festivals in the U.S.
