Breaking Laces
Sep 3, 2012
In only a few short years, the Brooklyn trio, Breaking Laces has quietly built a potent body of recorded work and carved out a formidable reputation as a powerful live act. The band consists of Willem Hartong (lead vocals, guitar, principal songwriter), Rob Chojnacki (bass, keyboards, backing vocals) and Seth Masarsky (drums, programming, percussion). They have released five albums and five EPs since they began in 2003.
Breaking Laces is known for their honest songwriting that combines widescreen songcraft with personally-charged lyrical intimacy. Their newest single is entitled "Better Than Me" off their upcoming album Come Get Some which is due out on October 30th. Since the beginning Breaking Laces have embraced the hard-touring work ethic that has helped to keep them in the alternative music spotlight.
They have played every gig they could, from biker bars to heavy metal nights to summer camps, winning new fans one at a time. They've toured extensively throughout North America, and have visited the United Kingdom twice. All this hard work has allowed them to develop a live show whose upbeat intensity overtakes the musicians' seemingly mild-mannered exterior and their stripped-down lineup of acoustic guitar, bass and drums. This current tour will be no different and in anticipation of their new album release, Breaking Laces hit the road at the end of September.
