Cold War Kids

"All This Could Be Yours" is the first preview of the as-yet-untitled fifth album from Cold War Kids. It's set to be released this October through Downtown Records. As is the case with most Cold War Kids songs, front-man Nathan Willett's piercing cry rises above the striking piano chords and booming alt-rock guitars. While this is hardly a new direction for the band that broke out with 2006's "Hang Me Up To Dry", "All This Could Be Yours" shows a group playing to its strengths, making an accessible, radio-ready banger.
"We were shaken up, ready to let certain songs go further than before by trying new styles and arrangements, while keeping others sparse and caring more about the finished product and less about how we got there," explains Willet about the ten-track album, which was recorded at the band's private studio in San Pedro, CA.
Hailing from Long Beach, California, Cold War Kids band members include Nathan Willett (vocals, piano, guitar), Dann Gallucci (guitar, vocals), Matt Maust (bass guitar), and Matt Aveiro (drums, percussion). Matthew Schwartz (keyboards, guitar, vocals) is also a touring member with the band.
Formed in 2004 in Fullerton, CA, the band's early releases came from independent record label Monarchy Music. In 2006, Cold War Kids signed with Downtown/V2 and released their major label debut Robbers & Cowards to cult appeal from fans and critics. 2008's Loyalty to Loyalty and 2011's Mine Is Yours saw the band develop different musical sounds and lyrical content throughout to mixed reviews. In 2013, Cold War Kids released their fourth album Dear Miss Lonelyhearts.
Cold War Kids will be touring extensively to support the new LP throughout the rest of the summer and into the fall.
