Andrew McMahon In The Wilderness
Aug 14, 2014
Andrew McMahon In The Wilderness will be releasing his self titled album on October 14th via Vanguard Records. The current single is "Cecilia And The Satellite" which he has said is dedicated to his newborn daughter, Cecilia. It's described as "a road map of the life I had lived" leading up to the moment of his daughter's birth and McMahon is in fine storytelling mode, especially in moments where he describes a youthful car crash and when he admits to how his or "a face can change when a heart knows fear." The song is a lush and driving track, with piano and pulsating bass guiding the verse and chorus with an infectious tone few will be able to deny.
McMahon has stated "I'm thrilled to begin this journey, and for all of you to come along for the ride."
Andrew Ross McMahon has been known as the vocalist, pianist and primary songwriter for the bands Something Corporate and Jack's Mannequin but now primarily performs solo both under his own name and moniker Andrew McMahon In The Wilderness. Last sprint, he debuted his first solo work entitled The Pop Underground.
This summer McMahon toured with Matt Nathanson and Gavin DeGraw in preparation for his solo album. He will headline a tour this fall with Hunter Hunted & Junior Prom.
