The shutdown in Washington has left the U.S. without a functioning federal government. That's hard to imagine. You mean that before this we had a functioning federal government?
MILEY CYRUS and LIAM HEMSWORTH were reportedly together a lot longer than he wanted to be! Radar Online says Hemsworth wanted to break up some time ago, but Miley was super manipulative and was constantly reminding him that she helped make him a star in their movie The Last Song, and that he should be forever grateful. According to this so-called pal, Miley's recent outrageous behavior is a direct result of getting dumped. They also say Liam was fed up, especially after the VMAs and "No matter how much Miley whined or manipulated him, he was done." The source added, "Miley watched as Billy Ray Cyrus struggled with being a one-hit wonder and she witnessed firsthand how fleeting fame can be, so she's being outrageous and crazy as a desperate attempt to stay relevant."
After just three episodes, Fox has announced that they're renewing SLEEPY HOLLOW for a second season. Meanwhile, the USA Network is bringing back COVERT AFFAIRS for a fifth season. On the downside, TLC has reportedly canceled TODDLERS & TIARAS after its current season.
- Former Guns 'N' Roses guitarist SLASH has produced his first horror film. It's called Nothing Left to Fear and it opens in limited release tonight. Slash also wrote the score and closing theme song.
- Here's something you probably didn't see coming...CHRIS BROWN and DRAKE have apparently ended their feud. Brown posted a photo of himself and Drake on Facebook saying, "hanging in the studio together." By all accounts, no bottles were thrown. (See here)
- FLORIDA GEORGIA LINE kicked off their first headlining tour last night in Brookings, South Dakota. They'll be debuting five new songs and will have some special guests.
Everyone is pretty much fed up with the government shutdown and some establishments in the D.C. area are doing something about it. At the Daily Dish in nearby Silver Spring, Maryland, furloughed government employees get free coffee, while members of Congress have to pay double. A similar special is being offered at Washington's Kramerbooks & Afterwords Café. They're offering $5 drink specials during happy hour but, again, members of Congress pay double.
Former Chicago Cubs manager Dale Sveum wasn't out of work very long. Sveum has been hired by the Kansas City Royals for infield instruction and other coaching duties.
Boynton Beach, Florida's 20-year-old Justin Baker has been arrested on charges of selling drugs. It seems that James had the misfortune of selling those drugs to an undercover police officer. If anyone were to take pity on James' misfortune, you can stop doing that now as he's charged with selling the drugs to the undercover officer on four separate occasions.
