You may recall the story of Montana's Wayne Klinkel, who last April left his golden retriever alone in his car and returned to find the dog had eaten five $100 bills. Klinkel spent the next several days following his dog around with a pair of rubber gloves and plastic baggies to recover the money. After giving the remains a very thorough wash with "lots of dish soap," Klinkel dried, ironed, and taped the bills together and sent them to the U.S. Treasury Department's Bureau of Engraving and Printing for possible reimbursement. All the unpleasant work has paid off for Klinkel as the government determined the remnants were legit and qualified for replacement and paid him in full.

Iowa City police found Deaaron M. Hearn passed out on a bench early Saturday morning. As you might guess, officers noted that Hearn smelled strongly of alcohol, and had watery, bloodshot eyes, slurred speech and poor balance. When the officers gave Hearn a chance to call a friend to pick him up, he responded by putting a $20 bill to his ear and attempting to talk into it. Hearn scored a .178 on the breathalyzer test and was taken into custody.
