Much of the United States is experiencing the coldest weather in 20 years. In fact, it's so cold that penguins are flying south for the winter.
KE$HA has checked into rehab to treat an eating disorder. Her rep says she'll be unavailable for the next 30 days while she seeks treatment and in a statement Ke$ha said, "I'm a crusader for being yourself and loving yourself, but I've found it hard to practice." Ke$ha is a vegetarian and also said she wants to learn to love herself again. At least those are the public comments. Word is that Ke$ha is telling friends her eating disorder was caused by her own music producer, Dr. Luke. He supposedly fat shamed her and even called her a big, f***ing refrigerator and pressured her management to get on her case about it.
TIA AND TAMERA MOWRY are pulling the plug on their Style Network reality show Tia & Tamera after three years. Tamara plans to focus on her talk show The Real, while Tia will work solely on her Nickelodeon show Instant Mom.
- Billboard magazine reports that JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE'S The 20/20 Experience was the biggest selling album of 2013, with 2.43 million copies sold. The 20/20 Experience was the only album to sell over 2 million copies in 2013. Rounding out the top 10 was Eminem's The Marshall Mathers LP 2 (1.73 million), Luke Bryan's Crash My Party (1.52 million), Imagine Dragons' Night Visions (1.4 million), Bruno Mars' Unorthodox Jukebox (just under 1.4 million), Florida Georgia Line's Here's to the Good Times (1.35 million), Drake's Nothing Was the Same (1.34 million), Beyonce's surprise LP Beyoncé (1.3 million), Blake Shelton's Based on a True Story (1.11 million) and Jay Z's Magna Carta...Holy Grail (1.1 million).
Amazon.com founder Jeff Bezos had to be airlifted from the Galapagos Islands by the Ecuadorian Navy after he suffered from kidney stones on New Year's Day. Bezos was then flown back to the United States. A rep relayed a message from Bezos that said: 'Galapagos: five stars. Kidney stones: zero stars.' Bezos underwent surgery and is currently recuperating.
The next round of the NFL playoffs is set. On Saturday, the New Orleans Saints travel to Seattle to take on the Seahawks and the New England Patriots will host the Indianapolis Colts. On Sunday, the San Francisco 49ers visit the Carolina Panthers while the San Diego Chargers head to Denver to play the Broncos.
While many cities around the country hold First Friday celebrations, last Friday's celebration in St. Petersburg, Florida had to be canceled due to frigid weather. The city called off the event as temperatures hovered around 50 degrees and were expected to drop to 45. Incidentally, that was 45 above zero.
