The Secret Service has arrested a man found with a loaded rifle who was threatening to kill former President George W. Bush. The man was later identified as former Vice President Dick Cheney.
JUSTIN BIEBER'S pal LIL ZA has been charged with two counts of felony drug possession and one count of causing damage in excess of $950 to jail property following the raid on Justin's home after the alleged egging incident. Authorities say the drugs involved are Ecstasy and Oxycontin, which could see him do up to nine years behind bars. As for Bieber's DUI case, Miami authorities feel they have Justin dead to rights. Even though his blood alcohol level was a mere .014, they say the officer who made the bust is an unimpeachable witness. Police also dispute the GPS reading from Justin's car that showed he was going under the speed limit. In any case, they feel the case is so strong that Bieber will cop a plea deal.
Actor MAXIMILIAN SCHELL has died after a sudden illness at the age of 83. Schell was a fugitive from Adolf Hitler and somewhat ironically won an Oscar for his performance in the 1961 film Judgment at Nuremberg. (See Oscar speech here)
- A music industry group called IFPI has named ONE DIRECTION as the top "Global Recording Artist" for the year. The newly-created award honors the most popular recording artist across music downloads, streaming and physical sales. One direction finished ahead of Eminem, Justin Timberlake, Bruno Mars, and Katy Perry for the honor.
If you have a Yahoo e-mail account hackers may have stolen your username and password. Not only that, the hackers may have also gotten personal information about the people you've recently corresponded with. Yahoo has 273 million mail accounts worldwide, including 81 million in the U.S., but they didn't say how many users were affected. They say the hackers were probably looking for email addresses to spam and by grabbing real names from your sent folders, they could try to make bogus messages appear more legit.
The Phoenix Suns are said to be exploring a trade for Los Angeles Lakers center Pau Gasol. The Suns are looking to add a veteran star to help their young players during the team's surprising playoff run.
Boynton Beach, Florida police found Eric Morkert sitting in the bed of his pickup truck with a gunshot wound to his right leg. Eric informed officers that he'd accidentally shot himself in the leg after he pulled over to inspect his new gun and removed the magazine. Fans of irony will have a bang when they hear that Eric was returning home from a gun safety class.
