Former Partridge family star DAVID CASSIDY has been ordered into a 90-day live-in rehab facility for alcohol abuse following his most recent DUI arrest. Cassidy was busted for DUI near the L.A. airport back in January, which was his third DUI arrest since 2010. Cassidy had already voluntarily entered rehab and the judge gave him credit for time served. In addition to rehab, Cassidy was also given 60-months of probation and ordered to complete a 9-month alcohol program. All in all, it was a pretty good deal for Cassidy as he was facing up to a year in jail.
PAUL GUILFOYLE, who plays Captain Jim Brass on CSI, is leaving the show at the end of the season. Guilfoyle has been with the series since it first premiered in 2000 and was one of the last remaining original cast members. His final appearance will be in the Season 14 finale, airing on May 7th.
- ELTON JOHN has extended his record for the most appearances in the nearly 53-year history of Billboard's Adult Contemporary chart. His latest song, "Can't Stay Alone Tonight," enters the charts this week and marks his 70th entry on the list. Elton's first song on the chart was "Your Song," back in 1970. Coincidentally, Aloe Blacc borrows from that tune for his song "The Man," which is in the top 10.
If you smoke those e-cigarettes and have kids you'd better keep close tabs on your liquid nicotine. The nicotine comes in flavors like chocolate and bubble gum, which could be tempting for children, but they're now saying that just a teaspoon could kill a child. According to the New York Times, the liquid nicotine is a powerful neurotoxin, which they say is far more dangerous than tobacco. Reports of accidental liquid nicotine poisonings rose 300 percent last year and 2014's figure is expected to be double that. The victims, many of them children under the age of four, can experience vomiting and seizures after being exposed to even a modest amount orally or through the skin.
NC State sophomore forward T.J. Warren is reportedly heading to the NBA draft. However, Wolfpack coach Mark Gottfried told ESPN yesterday that Warren "has not decided yet" and will meet with his family Thursday to discuss the matter.
Chicago's 19-year-old Luis Matienzo was arrested for playing Grand Theft Auto. No, Luis wasn't busted by video cops for speeding. It seems that he played the video game for over two hours while his 2-year-old stepson sat crying in his playpen with a broken leg. Luis eventually stopped playing when it was time to pick up his wife, at which point he sought medical attention for the child. However, it wasn't soon enough as Luis was charged with child endangerment after telling police he was aware the child's leg was injured.
