Could SALMA HAYEK be facing manslaughter charges? Awhile back, her brother Sami was driving a high-powered Ford GT when he got into an accident and killed another driver. The LAPD has gotten a search warrant to look at a device on the vehicle known as a restraint control module, which is like a black box for cars and it could confirm eyewitness accounts that Sami gunned his car and lost control, crossed over the center line and hit an oncoming car. It turns out that Salma and her husband owned the car and Sami was just borrowing it. Under California law, if the victim's family sues, the registered owners could also be on the hook.
- BLONDIE is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year with a two-disc set called "Blondie 4(0) Ever." The first disc is called "Ghosts of Download" and it's their 10th studio album. The second disc is called "Deluxe Redux: Greatest Hits," and features brand new studio recordings of some of their classic tracks. The set will be out on May 13th.
You may have gotten some weird messages from friends with AOL e-mail accounts recently and here's why. AOL has admitted they've been hacked and user accounts are being used to send spam to other people. AOL is working on the issue, but they still don't know how widespread it is. The messages contain a link which could lead to malware, viruses or phishing attacks.
ESPN will carry an NFL Wild Card playoff game this season, marking the first time an NFL postseason game will be broadcast on cable TV. ESPN will pay $100 million per game for the rights.
DeKalb County, Georgia police arrested Mark Densmore for shoplifting at a local Wal-Mart. During his arrest, Densmore asked officers to secure his bicycle because it was "very nice and expensive." Police secured the bicycle, then ran the serial number and discovered it was reported stolen several days earlier.
