The Connecticut Supreme Court has ordered a 17-year-old girl to undergo chemotherapy treatments for her cancer. The court ruled that officials aren't violating the rights of the teen, identified only as Cassandra C., by forcing her to undergo treatment for aggressive Hodgkin's lymphoma. Cassandra considers chemotherapy to be poison, and her mother, Jackie Fortin, has supported her fight for alternative treatments. Doctors say that with the treatments she'd have an 85% chance of survival, but without them she'd most likely die within two years. Cassandra ran away from home to avoid treatments, but is now confined at Connecticut Children's Medical Center in Hartford. Cassandra will be able to make her own medical choices when she turns 18 in September.

Too late, one of his pals helpfully pointed out to the drunken guest: "Don't try this at home!" (See here)
