Prom season will be here before you know it and this year's first celebrity Prom-posal via YouTube goes out to SELENA GOMEZ. Vine Star Cole LaBrant tried Selena last summer, but got no response. Cole's video shows him lip-syncing to several of Selena's songs while dancing with his friends in a gym, in a cotton field and on train tracks. Cole tells Selena, "There's only one reason why you should go to prom with me. I live in Enterprise, Alabama and not much exciting stuff goes on here. But if you were to go to prom with me, it would be something that I would never forget and I would try to make sure that you had a really good time too, so, Selena Gomez, will you go to prom with me?" Like most people, you've probably stretched the truth a bit while sharing your exploits on social media. However, a new study has found that doing so could alter your own memories and have a negative effect on your mental health. Two-thirds of users admit to lying about their lives on social media with 20 percent of those between the ages of 18 and 24 saying they often stretch the truth about relationships, promotions and vacations. Psychologists say that can result in "digital amnesia," where we start believing the stories we tell rather than remembering what really happened. They say this can lead to us feeling guilty and hating ourselves and possibly even a sense of disconnection and paranoia. Even without fibbing on social media, our memories are often unreliable, but keeping a journal can help us keep our memories intact, but only if we tell the truth.
