Fifty Shades of Grey has broken the February weekend box office record set by the movie the Passion of the Christ. Of course, in both movies someone gets bound up, humiliated and hurt.
It turns out that the BRUCE JENNER car crash was caught on video by a camera mounted on a city bus. Sources tell TMZ that the video shows Bruce hitting both the Lexus, whose driver was killed, and the Prius that had been stopped. The video also shows that the Lexus driver never made contact with the Prius. While it remains to be seen why the Prius was stopped where it was, the video would seem to indicate it was possible that Bruce was following too closely, which could open the door to a possible vehicular manslaughter prosecution.
JOHN OLIVER won't be replacing Jon Stewart on the Daily show. Oliver has signed a deal to stay with HBO for two more seasons. Last Week Tonight With John Oliver will have 35 shows each for Season 3 in 2016 and Season 4 in 2017.
KID ROCK will hit the road with FOREIGNER on June 24th in Hartford, Connecticut. As with his 2013 $20 Best Night Ever Tour, tickets will again be just $20. That $20 includes parking as well as a $2 coupon towards the purchase of his upcoming album, First Kiss.
That group planning to send humans on a one way trip to colonize the planet Mars has narrowed the field down to 100 people, including 33 Americans. Mars One started with 200,000 applicants willing to make the trip in the year 2024. Only 24 people will be chosen to make the first trip, but they might not want to get their hopes up just yet. A group of Massachusetts Institute of Technology researchers say the technologies needed to sustain life on Mars either don't exist or are only in development. They say that even if the technology was developed by 2024, the amount of equipment and money needed would make the project impossible.
Former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva has failed a second drug test administered by the Nevada State Athletic Commission. This test was administered the same day as his unanimous decision win against Nick Diaz at UFC 183 on January 31st.
Sparta, New Jersey's Brian J. Byers allegedly drove his BMW into a guard rail after blowing through a stop sign. Brian might've avoided his arrest on DUI charges had he and pal Alexander Zambenedetti not returned to the scene of the accident several hours later to pour water on the road to make it look like the accident had been caused by a patch of black ice. Unfortunately, an officer saw the men tossing the water and not only arrested Brian, but a shirtless in sub-freezing weather Alexander was also popped for DUI after driving them back to the scene.
