Starbucks is doubling their free college tuition plan for employees to cover a full four years of college instead of two. That means if Starbucks employees study real hard they can graduate college and get a job at McDonalds.
BRUCE JENNER'S interview with Diane Sawyer is set for Friday night April 24th. ABC will only say it'll be a 2-hour "far-ranging, exclusive interview" with Jenner, although it's widely believed he'll officially confirm his big switch. The interview has already been taped and Bruce supposedly talks about everything from his early years identifying as a woman, to the present where he's deep into the transformation. Part of that transformation would seem to be breast implants. Bruce was seen hiking last weekend and, despite the hot temperatures, he was wearing a baggy, hoodie sweatshirt.
NINA DOBREV has announced that she's leaving THE VAMPIRE DIARIES. Nina plays Elena Gilbert on the show and in her six seasons she's been a human, a vampire, a doppelganger, "a crazy immortal" and has been kidnapped, killed, body-snatched and resurrected. She promised more strange events to come for her character before May's season finale.
JOHN LEGEND will produce a new musical romantic drama about a former one-hit wonder who regains his love for music when he's hired to coach an aspiring singer for her audition on a singing competition show. MIGUEL is in talks to star in the film.
Last Wednesday, Arkansas' Gertrude Weaver was unofficially named the world's oldest person at the age of 116. Unfortunately her reign didn't last long as she died yesterday due to complications from pneumonia. Guinness World Records hadn't yet officially named Weaver the world's oldest person, but will probably do so posthumously. While the average reign for the world's oldest person is about a year, Gertrude can't claim the shortest tenure, as that title goes to Emma Tillman of Connecticut, who died just four days after becoming the world's oldest person back in 2007. The new world's oldest person is now believed to be 115-year-old Jeralean Talley, who lives with her 77-year-old daughter in Inkster, Michigan.
The Boston Red Sox have signed pitcher Rick Porcello to a four-year contract extension worth $82.5 million. Porcello received a $500,000 signing bonus and will be paid $20 million in 2016 and 2017, and $21 million in 2018 and 2019. His 2015 contract remains at a paltry $12.5 million.
There were some rotten eggs at a Sacramento charity Easter egg hunt on Sunday. The eggs were fine, but the participants were pretty rotten as organizers attempted to set an Easter egg hunt world record. After organizers spent $10,000 transporting 510,000 plastic eggs from Florida the scene quickly descended into chaos as adults and older kids began pushing and trampling crying toddlers at what was supposed to be a children-only event. According to the Sacramento Bee, a screaming match broke out between parents and in the end organizers failed to set the world record.
