Kylie and Kendall Jenner have filed a petition to trademark their names. Not to be outdone, Kim Kardashian plans to copyright her butt.
Among the tidbits in MELISSA RIVERS' new book about her mother, The Book of Joan: Tales of Mirth, Mischief, and Manipulation, is that she had 348 plastic surgeries! She also loved fat jokes because she was a fat child; she was a terrible driver who refused to go over 40 mph, even on the highway. She writes, "The five scariest words that ever came out of my mother's mouth were 'Melissa, get in the car.'" Melissa also writes that she felt it was "hurtful and deeply unfair" that Jay Leno kept her off The Tonight Show for more than "20 years for no good reason" following her ban by Johnny Carson.
SLEEPY HOLLOW will be without Frank Irving when it returns for season three. ORLANDO JONES is leaving the show, although the Fox network had yet to comment on his exit.
George R. R. Martin has confirmed a connection between THE GRATEFUL DEAD and Game of Thrones, saying that he's a fan of the band. For example, the Weirwood trees are named after Dead guitarist Bob Weir.
Sasha Smith, a teacher at St. Mary's Magnet Academy in Columbus, Georgia, asked Chiquita Hill if she could visit her home to talk about the way her 10-year-old son, Sean, had been behaving in class. Ms. Smith's visit caught Sean by surprise and when mom asked him why he was disrespectful to his teacher he said, "Because I wanted to and I don't care." Sean cares now. Hill called police and asked them to stage an intervention. Officers came by the house and pretended to arrest Sean, put him in handcuffs and took him to the patrol car and turned on the lights to give him a good scare. When he was released, Sean ran into his mom's arms and promised to improve his behavior. Mom posted pictures of the arrest on Facebook, where they went viral before being taken down. (See here)
The New Jersey Devils have named Ray Shero as the team's new general manager. He replaces Lou Lamoriello, who'll stay with the team as president of hockey operations.
An unnamed 16-year-old Dubuque, Iowa kid managed to get some booze, which he proceeded to drink before running away from a group home. The kid helped himself to a street sweeper, which police soon saw swerving down the road and the chase was on. The kid led officers on a brief pursuit that reached speeds of nearly 50 mph before he crashed into a tree, a utility pole and parked car. The teen suffered minor injuries and was charged with numerous offenses.
