Kim Kardashian was confronted by anti-fur activists at a New York City book signing this week. It was a pleasant change of pace for Kim following her usual confrontations with anti-Kardashian activists.
Damn...SOPHIE B. HAWKINS doesn't want to be ROSIE O'DONNELL'S lover! The two have been romantically linked since Rosie's split from her wife Michelle Rounds and with Sophie having a baby on the way the buzz was that they were serious. However, Sophie says she and Rosie are just old friends adding, "I am not romantically involved with Rosie or anybody for that matter...I am very proud and happy to be having this child on my own."
SURVIVOR will have a new twist for the show's upcoming 31st season as fans will get to choose the 20 castaways who'll compete. Fans will get to choose from 32 finalists who've been on the show once before, but never won. Voting continues for two weeks at the Survivor website.
SIR ELTON JOHN testified in the Senate yesterday to urge Congress to do more in the fight against HIV/AIDS. Ironically, Elton testified before Republicans who oppose same-sex marriage and gay rights, although they happily posed for photos with him and husband David Furnish. (See here)
It turns out that pizza can be good for you! A Florida woman and her children were being held hostage by her boyfriend who had a knife and was on drugs. She persuaded him to give back her cell phone so she could order a pizza. When she placed the order she included a message in the comment section that read: "Please help! Get 911 to me. 911 hostage help." Pizza Hut employees recognized her as a regular customer and knew it wasn't a prank, so they called police. Officers quickly arrived at her house and she came running out, but the kids were still inside. It all ended well as police got the boyfriend out of the house and arrested him without incident 20 minutes later.
Longtime Baltimore Ravens safety Ed Reed is retiring. Reed spent 11 years in Baltimore before splitting the 2013 season with the New York Jets and Houston Texans. However, he failed to land with another team and didn't play at all last season.
In Morro Bay, California, Geoffrey Mark Ogara and Martin Perez Jr. decided to ditch the vicious cycle of homelessness by living on a boat on the high seas. Unfortunately, they quickly lost control of the vessel and beached it on a sand spit. Geoffrey and Martin called the harbor patrol for help and while giving them a ride back to shore, officers became suspicious when neither man could explain how they got stranded. Eventually, they confessed to stealing the sailboat, but they are no longer homeless as they're residing in the local jail.
