Security researcher Chris Roberts was kicked off a United Airlines flight last month after tweeting about security vulnerabilities in the airplane's computer system. Now the FBI says that he actually once took control of an airplane and caused it to briefly fly sideways by hacking into the airplane's Thrust Management Computer via the in-flight entertainment system. While Roberts says it was only a simulated test on a virtual environment and that he never interfered with the operation of an actual airplane while in flight, he did admit to accessing in-flight networks about 15 times during various flights, but that he only explored the plane's systems. Roberts says he went to the airplane manufacturers and the maker of the entertainment systems to make them aware of the potential problems, but they apparently never took any action.

After X-rays detected the source of the vibrations, doctors performed a phone-ectomy on Hanan and a member of the Jordanian parliament is now calling for the government to resign over the alleged scandal. However, the Jordanian Health Ministry says Hanan's story was "baseless and fabricated".
