Brian Williams will return to NBC, but will take a big pay cut and be moved over to cable channel MSNBC. Brian would've been back sooner, but he had to wait for the prison seamstress to bust him out.
SEAN PENN apparently tried hooking up with CHARLIZE THERON after their split. A few weeks back, Penn was partying with U2 after their concert at the Roxy Nightclub in Los Angeles. Penn supposedly drunk-dialed Charlize to see if he could come over, but she turned him down, refusing to be his booty call!
The New York Times reports that CHRIS ROCK was approached about replacing Jon Stewart as host of the Daily Show. Rock was interested, but he only wanted to stay on through the 2016 elections and Comedy Central wanted someone more permanent. They also say AMY POEHLER was approached, but she wasn't interested.
RIHANNA tops Billboard's Dance Club Songs chart for the 23rd time with "Bitch Better Have My Money." That moves Rihanna past BEYONCE into second place all time. However, it could be a long while before she catches MADONNA for first place as she has 45 chart toppers and perhaps counting.
Pope Francis released his first encyclical, or teaching letter, yesterday that says climate change is real and that the future of humanity is at stake. The pope wrote that people who deny the Earth is getting warmer are wrong, and politicians can't sit by and do nothing while everything melts. The message puts Republicans in a tough spot, since most of the climate change deniers come from their party.
Kevin Love reportedly plans to decline his player option with the Cleveland Cavaliers for next season and test the free agent market. The Cavaliers' LeBron James will also likely decline his option, but is expected to return to Cleveland.
Today's ironically dressed inmate is Arkansas' Tieren Watson. Earlier this week, Watson was named as a potentially armed-and-dangerous suspect in a shooting that left a woman in serious condition. Police tracked Watson down to a motel in the city of Benton and took him into custody while he was wearing a T-shirt that read: "You can run, but you can't hide." (See here)
