Mariah Carey is releasing her first children's book. Mariah says she's looking forward to having her kids read it to her.
KHLOE KARDASHIAN threw a birthday party for her new NBA star boyfriend James Harden on Tuesday night. The party was highlighted by a midnight fireworks display, although Khloe failed to consider her neighbors might be a bit upset about the noisy pyrotechnics at that hour. Among those who were less than thrilled at the 15-minute display was Josh Gad, who tweeted: "To whomever planned fireworks at midnight on a Tues thank u. Sincerely parents of 2 children who just woke up thinking we were being shelled." It turns out no laws were broken as they had a safety permit from the Coast Guard. Despite dozens of 911 calls about the noise, police apparently didn't investigate. (See fireworks here)
Some more celebrity names have been revealed for the upcoming season of DANCING WITH THE STARS. Backstreet Boy Nick Carter will be hitting the ballroom as will Triple Crown winning jockey Victor Espinoza. Also, rumors have Paula Deen and Chaka Khan competing.
PEARL JAM plans to work on some new music in 2016. Bassist Jeff Ament says, "The band will probably try and get another record going in the next year."
Not only did a bunch of men get in trouble for using the Ashley Madison cheaters website, it turns out that they were wasting their time and money. Of the site's 5.5 million registered female users, fewer than 10,000 had ever responded to a message and less than 1,500 had ever checked their inbox. That's an activity rate of about .2%.
The Chicago Bulls' Derrick Rose is being accused of gang rape by his alleged ex-girlfriend. The woman claims Rose drugged her and gang raped her, along with personal manager Randall Hampton and pal Ryan Allen. The alleged assault took place in August 2013, and she says she's only coming forward now because she was "ashamed and embarrassed."
Long Island's Stephen Ruth got tired of getting snagged by red light cameras and decided to do something about it. Using a painter's pole, Ruth went to various intersections and poked the red light cameras upwards to the sky. In an effort to aid fellow motorists, Ruth posted a handy instructional video on his Facebook page showing how it's done. Among those viewing the page was the local police department and Ruth is now facing four counts of criminal tampering. (See his video here)
