Walgreens is buying drug store chain Rite Aid for $9.4 billion. They say this could be the biggest drug deal not involving Charlie Sheen.
Forbes Magazine has come out with its annual list of the top-earning dead celebrities and MICHAEL JACKSON again tops the list, earning over $115 million in the last year. Elvis Presley was next at $55 million with "Peanuts" creator Charles Schultz third at $40 million. Schulz could move up next year with the new Peanuts movie coming out. Others on the list included Bob Marley, Elizabeth Taylor John Lennon and Joan Rivers.
CARRIE UNDERWOOD will be the headliner on "DICK CLARK'S NEW YEAR'S ROCKIN' EVE WITH RYAN SEACREST" in New York City's Times Square. Fergie will host the Hollywood celebration and Jenny McCarthy will report live from Times Square.
RIHANNA has landed a major role in the upcoming sci-fi flick Valerian, from French director Luc Besson. It's described as a 3D interplanetary sci-fi film based on a comic book. The movie is due in the summer of 2017.
A Florida man has been hospitalized and placed in an induced coma after his e-cigarette exploded in his face this week. Evan Spahlinger's sister found him on the floor covered in soot. She says he wasn't breathing and his whole face and neck were burned. Doctors say he also has lung damage and that the mouthpiece from his e-cigarette may have gone down his throat and exploded a second time. Before he was taken to the hospital, Spahlinger managed to tell his sister that he was done with e-cigarettes forever. Officials believe the explosion was caused by the e-cigarette's lithium battery.
Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel is expected to meet with NFL investigators very soon regarding that altercation with his girlfriend two weeks ago and whether the incident violated any league policies.
Otoe County, Nebraska, police have arrested 28-year-old Mary Lucas and 29-year-old Glenn Oliver on charges of child abuse and false imprisonment. The couple is accused of duct taping their 5 and 6-year-old children to chairs and forcing them to watch the movie Mommie Dearest, which was about screen legend Joan Crawford and her acts of child abuse.
