WFSH Presents 75,000 Valentine's Cards
104.7 The Fish WFSH/ATLANTA presented 75,000 Valentine’s Day cards to the patients of Sibley Heart Center at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta on Friday, February 13. Beth Bacall hosted a day long broadcast live from the hospital on behalf of the station. The lobby of CHOA was turned into a mountain of valentines, where patients could dive in and select any card to their liking, while other kids had cards hand delivered to their rooms.
This began with a month long initiative called CHOA Heartstrong originally created by Bacall; the aim was to serve and send love to local children in need with a few hundred cards. Listeners responded in kind, overwhelming the station with tens of thousands valentines that were dropped off and mailed in.
For someone beautiful.
Dear new friend…
Your strength blows me away!
These are a sampling of the words drawn, crafted, and pasted on the valentines that were delivered by Beth Bacall and 104.7 the Fish. “You are loved, you are remembered, you are brave,†Bacall said on air. “These are some of the messages you are sending as thank you’s to the kids of Children’s Healthcare.â€
“This is really ministry,†she said. “I don’t take it lightly. God will equip you to perform. This is really raw real format. We hear from a lot of listeners. It’s the message in the music that’s moving the heart and soul of the people who listen.â€
