"We 'Gone Need 'Mo Wax!"
God bless the silly people.
They had 5, 4, 3, 2, and first row for Taylor Swift at KSON in San Diego so they had five listeners and an esthetician come in. The listeners picked a waxed patch of John Flint's sasquatch-like(tm) torso, it was ripped off and revealed what row they won. Much like...
Win A Tattoo That Can Start A Harley
Done by Rock 102 in Fargo. All of the qualifiers came to a final event, got a temporary, rub-on tat that they applied to their upper arm, wandered around, ate and drank and eventually a bikini clad woman (I assume) came in they removed a bumpersticker on her ample (I assume) chest. If your tat matched the one on her heaving bosom, you won.
More Bieber
Yet another naked guitar pic, this time from Hot 96.7 in Mankato where Intern D posed with a guitar...and lost his job at a daycare facility for posing for this photo.
As someone who has been fired from too many daycare facilities to name, D, there will always be a place in Radio for people like us.
The Best Back To School Contest Of 2013
36 listeners. A 60 foot crane. $10,000 in shopping mall gift cards. And the link to it all http://www.ampradiocalgary.com/cash
The Best TSL Contest Ever
With yesterday's email, I got a lot of followup questions. Specifically about TSL since apparently everyone is killing with cume.
"Paige, what is the best TSL contest ever?" from a GM.
It would be any version of the "$1000 song" that Jamz in Greensboro did, or the Cash Hit that The Beat in Vancouver did or that Hot in Ottawa did. Very simple. When ONE song plays, that's it. Be caller 945 or 899 or 1019 and win.
In the case of Vancouver, in PPM, they had a 64 share in one demo the morning that they finally played it. (They did take out a newspaper ad insert that said "Today IS the day")
Hot in Ottawa is #1 in a stooped kind of way. They got five weeks out of it and pulled the biggest numbers in the history of the dial position.
One of the smaller market stations did it with a trip to see Bruno Mars in Las Vegas. Again, one song. Boom.
