For The "Just In Case" File
Add www.moviesounds.com to your database of great morning show and production resources.
Road Rage For Backstage
Simple enough: you get five listeners in the studio in the morning. You send them each out with a promo person and a video camera. You put a "Ask Me About My Grandchildren" sticker in the rear window. They have to drive the MINIMUM legal speed. First car to get flipped off, wins the backstage.
Car Alarm Olympics
I wrote this on a scrap of paper last month when I was in Los Angeles and a car alarm went off outside my window at 4:30 am and wouldn't go off. This is actually an old, tested bit. But it's simple; you take a winner to a mall and they have thirty second to run through the parking lot, pounding on car hoods. You win $10 for each alarm that goes off. Audio is outstanding.
The Confrontation Station
Or, you could do an actual Emergency Engagement Intervention. Because, again, we all know someone who is dating or about to marry, someone who is SO incredibly wrong for them. Like a friend of mine from California. The nicest person in the world (according to Hilary at Newcap in Canada). And was dating a guy who name was Turtle and the tattoo across his neck? "My Hatred Is Pure". Luckily she saw the light before we all had to do something.
So stage an intervention. Get all their friends down in the studio. Come up with a fake premise why they need to come in, lock the door and confront them. Tears are mandatory.
