Morning Show Costumes
Every Halloween, CPR Director of Computer Stuff, Bel Boschi, will get together with some of her hipster doofus friends for Halloween and do a cast photo recreation from an iconic TV show or movie.
This could totally be a different airstaff shot, each day, the week leading up to Halloween. Involve the listeners and have them pick the flicks and shows to re-do.
Lick It For Tickets has always been a fun social media contest. Throw out a theme or an item (traffic sign or co-worker or tool) and have the audience lick and post. Hilarity will ensue(tm).
A station in Australia recreated Taylor Swift photos with potatos. Hmmm...This is SO a Radio on-line promotion http://www.2dayfm.com.au/scoopla/music/blog/2014/12/taylor-swifts-iconic-moments-recreated-with-a-potato-named-tayto-swift
As much fun as doing artist recreations based on song titles would be, another option would be to shelve this for December and the next Star Wars film and do a contest based on that series of movies.
The Best On-Site Game You've Never Seen
This ain't a prize wheel but it's close. From Mandi at Cumulus in Albuquerque where listeners at a Dierks Bentley show moved little airplanes onto a runway using balls in panty hose on their heads. This will get a crowd.
Her tour is on the road pretty much through next summer and one of the stations is going to fly in a bestie to go to the show based on the song "Miss You Much". Write in and tell about this person who you would love to see and hang out with for a weekend, the station will pick one and tears will ensue(tm)
And Chris Taylor at Q-107.5 in Memphis suggests doing a version of the On Hold Game as "Let's Wait Awhile". Take a caller during the morning show, stick them on-hold repeating your music position, check in with them between songs and spots and eventually after a couple of hours reward their stupidity with tickets.
