The Danish group, Lukas Graham's music was first introduced to the world with their single, "7 Years." The song quickly made its way up numerous Spotify Top 50 Viral and Country charts. Their self-titled new album is out in their home country now, but a U.S. release date has not yet been set. Warner Bros. Records plans to release it in 2016. Produced by BackBone Studio, the collection's lead single, "7 Years" begins with an emotional delivery and a soft piano line. Lukas looks back over his life and what's ahead.
"I couldn't go any further than 60 because my father died at 61," he admits. "I need to pass it to believe it. It's a song about growing older. I'm also coming to a realization that being a father is the most important thing. My biggest dream is not to be some negative old dude, but to have my kids' friends say, 'You're going to visit your dad? Say hi! He's fucking awesome.' I had a perfect father. When he died, all of my friends were like, 'It's hard for me to feel bad for you, because I just lost one of my best friends."
Consisting of Lukas Graham Forchhammer (vocals), Mark "Lovestick" Falgren (drums), Magnus "Magnúm" Larsson (bass) and Kasper Daugaard (keyboard), Lukas Graham released their debut album in Europe in 2012. This collection went quadruple-platinum in Denmark and yielded three smashes-"Drunk In The Morning", "Better Than Yourself" and "Ordinary Things". Lukas Graham is known for their countless sold out shows and have become the most popular live act in Denmark.
