Clearview H.S. Wins B101/Philly's Best Musical Group Search

CLEARVIEW REGIONAL HIGH SCHOOL’s Vocal Ensemble won the grand prize in WEAZ RADIO, INC. AC WBEB (B101)/PHILADELPHIA's third annual search for the best school musical groups on FRIDAY, DECEMBER 16th. The school was awarded a $5,000 grand prize for its music program from B101 and PHILADELPHIA-area MERCEDES BENZ dealers, and an invitation to sing with PETER NERO and the PHILLY POPS at its Holiday performance on DECEMBER 21st.
After a week of competition among some of the area’s best vocal groups, listeners voted CLEARVIEW REGIONAL' as their favorite choir on the WBEB’s website after the Ensemble performed "Joy to the World" won them the grand prize! Second-place finisher CENTRAL BUCKS HIGH SCHOOL SOUTH received a $2,000 cash prize and OVERBROOK SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL won a $1,000 cash prize for finishing in 3rd Place.
"The response to this contest has been even more enthusiastic and powerful than last year," B101 morning show co-host TIFFANY HILl said. "The students were a joyous reminder to all of our listeners that the PHILADELPHIA area is teeming with gifted and artistic children and teachers."
"We were blown away by the passion and dedication these students and teachers have, and the incredible accomplishments they are able to make amidst the pressure of limited budgets and resources," B101 morning show co-host MICHAEL CHEW said. "The talent we have right here in our own backyard is amazing and I know I speak for B101 when I say that we are happy to award prizes to these deserving school music programs."
