Condolences to family and friends of former MUTUAL BROADCASTING SYSTEM news anchor and executive STEPHEN MCCORMICK, who died NOVEMBER 30th of congestive heart failure at 97, according to the WASHINGTON POST.
MCCORMICK joined MUTUAL in the 1930s, rising from WHITE HOUSE Correspondent to executive positions at the network, before joining NBC as host of "THE AMERICAN FORUM" and "YOUTH WANTS TO KNOW" in 1954. He returned to MUTUAL in 1960 as VP and anchored news reports and interviews through the 70s. MCCORMICK served in the military during WORLD WAR II, drafted in 1941 and ending as Lieutenant Colonet in 1946, winning a Bronze Star.
