CLEAR CHANNEL Talk KFI-A/LOS ANGELES afternoon stars JOHN KOBYLT and KEN CHIAMPOU are the subjects of a front-page profile in today's LOS ANGELES TIMES. The article by MARIA L. LAGANGA looks at the JOHN AND KEN SHOW's heavy influence on CALIFORNIA politics and the hosts' unpredictable stances on issues, noting that "their stances and beliefs are more varied than many might suspect."
"KOBYLT and CHIAMPOU have created one of the most popular local radio talk shows in the country by tapping into the contradiction that is CALIFORNIA," LAGANGA writes, adding, "The angrier the Californians, the likelier they are to listen in." Explaining their independence (both hosts are registered as "declined to state" party preference on the voting rolls), KOBYLT told LAGANGA that the hosts are basically "pro-choice, pro-gay marriage, don't really [care] about guns either way as long as I'm not getting shot. Marijuana's fine."
