CLEAR CHANNEL Talk KTLK-A/LOS ANGELES is adding a local show with former crosstown NBC O&O KNBC-TV anchor DAVID CRUZ. The new show will launch MONDAY (1/16) and will air 3-6p (PT) weekdays.
"This is a fresh new look at SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA through the eyes of a well-known, veteran network television and radio journalist very familiar with the Latino community in the nation’s second-largest market,” said CLEAR CHANNEL RADIO LOS ANGELES President GREG ASHLOCK.
"To me, LOS ANGELES is the place to be on the air,” said CRUZ. “To have this opportunity to join the KTLK family, to speak my mind and hear the thoughts of my fellow Angelenos in this world class, multicultural city is incredibly exciting and energizing, and I can’t wait to get started.”
“We are delighted that CLEAR CHANNEL is launching a new show -- the DAVID CRUZ Show – that reflects its commitment to LOS ANGELES’ large, diverse and growing Latino community. This is precisely what broadcasters should be doing to meet the needs of the communities they serve,” said RUBEN JAUREGUI, President and CEO of the LATINO INSTITUTE FOR CORPORATE INCLUSION (LICI).
“We congratulate KTLK for creating a space on-air that allows Latinos and other communities to be heard,” said RUBEN GUERRA, Chairman of the LATIN BUSINESS ASSOCIATION.“There is no doubt that KTLK engaging with the (LATINO) ALLIANCE is not only good, it is good business, and the DAVID CRUZ Show will be good for LOS ANGELES,” said HECTOR BARRETO, Chairman of the LATINO COALITION.
