As BET Honors Mariah Carey, Nick Cannon Makes First Public Appearance Since Health Scare

CBS RADIO Top 40 WXRK (92.3 NOW)/NEW YORK's morning maven NICK CANNON make his first public appearance since being hospitalized for kidney failure at the 2012 BET HONORS, reports POPULARCRITIC.COM. "The BET HONORS, hosted by GABRIELLE UNION, was held at THE WARNER THEATER in WASHINGTON, D.C to help recognize the leading African-Americans in music, arts, media, literary arts, service, education and entertainment. Honorees for the night included MARIAH CAREY, STEVIE WONDER, filmmaker SPIKE LEE, famed poet MAYA ANGELOU, the TUSKEGEE Airmen and track and field coach BEVERLY KEARNEY.
MARIAH CAREY brought her husband NICK CANNON and their son MOROCCAN onstage to accept her award.
"What most people don't get to experience is the human," said CANNON onstage referencing his health scare with kidney failure earlier this month. POPULARCRITIC.COM also noted CANNON added that "despite his wife's public persona as a 'diva,' she put it all aside to prepare soup for him at 3a 'when my kidneys ain't acting right.' He ended with, "To know you guys are honoring her tonight, I have to continue to honor her every day."
