WHBQ Revamps, Relaunches

After stunting since SATURDAY (5/20) with 'countdown' styled sweepers, listeners of FLINN Top 40 WHBQ/MEMPHIS who tuned in this morning, expecting to hear KARSON & KENNEDY were instead greeted with jockless back-to-back CHRISTMAS tunes.
At 7:20 the holiday hits stopped. Then, a montage of song hooks from recent Pop hits began playing, as (new voice guy) JEFF BERLIN recalled the two-year station history, heralding it was time for a change "to the next level," then ultimately revealing - not a format flip - but rather the station's latest promotion campaign ... "Summer Of 10,000 Winners." New in-house consultant CHRIS TAYLOR, along with PD KARSON WITH A "K", tweaked the station music and on air presentation - which includes a new jingle package from N2EFFECT. The current on-air line up remains in place.
