SEAN (DIDDY) COMBS is reportedly launching a music and lifestyle cable network, that's rumored to be open for business by DECEMBER 2012. The channel will be named REVOLT, and is described "as the old days of MTV, but for more of the African American audience. The venture is well funded," sources told BROADCASTINGCABLE.COM.
Former MTV and longtime radio programmer ANDY SCHUON is also reportedly involved with REVOLT. Most recently, SCHUON ran the music channel INTERNATIONAL MUSIC FEED, which has since been discontinued.
THE NEW YORK DAILY NEWS reports "COMCAST reportedly will carry the channel as part of its ongoing effort to launch minority-owned networks. Launching the networks were part of the company’s agreement to merge with NBC UNIVERSAL. The company said it would launch 10 such networks over an eight year period. Two African-American owned networks are targeted to launch by JANUARY 28, 2013, according to the agreement."
