Tom Curley To Retire From AP

ASSOCIATED PRESS President and CEO TOM CURLEY has announced his retirement after nine years at the helm of the news agency.
The AP board will launch a search for CURLEY's successor, with LEE ENTERPRISES Chairman/CEO MARY JUNCK heading the search committee, while CURLEY stays on the job until his replacement is in place.
CURLEY, 63, joined AP after serving as President and Publisher of USA TODAY and SVP of the paper's owner, GANNETT. He oversaw the AP's development of digital initiatives and expansion of the wire service's customer base.
