DIAL GLOBAL and EDISON RESEARCH released the results of a study of radio listening to last weekend's NFL conference championship games and say that 22.9 million people tuned in to hear the AFC (BALTIMORE-NEW ENGLAND) and NFC (NEW YORK GIANTS-SAN FRANCISCO) finals. The study said that the overwhelming majority of listeners tuned in via traditional AM or FM radio, with SIRIUS XM and VERIZON WIRELESS' NFL app as alternate methods of listening.
"This type of focused study and strategic attention to the business exemplify our commitment to being the most innovative and service focused company in the industry supporting our affiliates and advertisers." said DIAL GLOBAL Co-Pres./CEO DAVID LANDAU.
"People think of football as a television-only event. This survey shows that in addition, many millions of people are seeking out coverage of the games on the radio," said EDISON RESEARCH Pres. LARRY ROSIN.
