WFLZ Moves Kane Into Mornings

CLEAR CHANNEL MEDIA AND ENTERTAINMENT Top 40 /Mainstream WFLZ/TAMPA moves the KANE Show from afternoons to mornings, where he succeeds the MJ Morning Show, starting MONDAY, FEB. 20th, 2012. KANE has been hosting a morning show on WIHT/WASHINGTON, D.C. for the past six years.
"It’s a fantastic move for the KANE Show, the audience already knows and loves him," CCME OM DOUG HAMAND, said. "I can’t think of anyone else to fill the big shoes that MJ is leaving."
"I am excited to have KANE as the foundation for WFLZ's next decade of dominance," PD TOMMY CHUCK added. "The KANE Show will make it a lot of fun to wake up in TAMPA BAY with a lot of laughs and all of today's biggest hit music."
"I always get strange looks when I try to explain to people that there are a handful of stations that I'm emotionally connected to and 93.3 FLZ is one of them," KANE said. "I actually love it and one of the reasons I fell in love with it was because of MJ and his incredible show over the last 18 years. I have the utmost respect and admiration for what MJ's built, I'm so excited about continuing 93.3 FLZ's winning tradition for years to come.”
The search for KANE’s replacement in afternoons is underway. Candidates should have at least thee years of full-time radio experience, must be able to operate an audio control board and should have a working knowledge of NexGen and basic computer skills. Also at WFLZ, KANE's new morning show needs a morning show producer. Candidates should have at least one year of full-time radio experience, must be able to flawlessly operate an audio control board, must have a working knowledge of NexGen, ProTools, VoxPro, Adobe Audition, Adobe Photoshop, HTML and possess other basic computer skills.
