CRTC Names Leonard Katz Acting Chairman

With KONRAD VON FINCKENSTEIN stepping down as Chairman of the CANADIAN RADIO-TELEVISION AND TELECOMMUNICATIONS COMMISSION, the agency has appointed Vice-Chairman of Telecommunications LEONARD KATZ as Acting Chairman.
KATZ, a former executive at DIGIMERGE TECHNOLOGIES and ROGERS BUSINESS SOLUTIONS, will serve as Acting Chairman until the government appoints a new Chairperson.
CBC Gets New Pemberton Retransmitter For Vancouver Outlet
In another action, the CRTC has granted the CBC's application for a new FM transmitter at PEMBERTON, BC to relay CBC RADIO 1 affiliate CBU-A/VANCOUVER. The PEMBERTON transmitter will operate with 262 watts at 91.5 FM and replaces the existing AM relay, CBXK-A, which has experienced signal degradation due to recent construction near its site.
