Recently named CLEAR CHANNEL MUSIC + ENTERTAINMENT/NASHVILLE OM MICHAEL BRYAN (NET NEWS 2/2) will take over as PD at legendary Country station WSIX (THE BIG 98)/NASHVILLE. Current PD JON ANTHONY will exit as of TUESDAY, MARCH 6th as he devotes full efforts as Managing Partner of KENNY CHESNEY's "No Shoes Radio."
While BRYAN will oversee sister Top 40 WRVW (107.5 THE RIVER) as part of his OM duties, his hands on responsibilities at WSIX now creates a day-to-day PD opening at WRVW.
ANTHONY noted, "With a very busy and exciting summer with NSR on the horizon, it's the right time for me to turn the WSIX wheel over to MICHAEL. We've made great progress in restoring the swagger and prestige to The BIG 98 and I am confident that MICHAEL and the WSIX team will continue the progress of our unique vision for NASHVILLE radio."
BRYAN added, "JON's done a terrific job setting the stage for THE BIG 98's return to dominance in MUSIC CITY. We sincerely appreciate his efforts and wish him much success with KENNY CHESNEY's 'No Shoes Radio'.
"It's truly a special honor to take over day-to-day PD duties at WSIX in addition to my new role as Cluster OM. I've been a genuine Country music fan all my life and the format couldn't be hotter right now. Our team is incredibly strong and poised for a big win. It's really true... 'It don't get much bigger than The BIG 98!!'"
