COX BROADCASTING Country WZZK/BIRMINGHAM, along with BIRMINGHAM MAYOR, WILLIAM A. BELL SR., invited JOE DON ROONEY of the BIG MACHINE group RASCAL FLATTS, to become a citizen of their fine city, even making it an official proclamation.
While in concert, JAY DeMARCUS of RASCAL FLATTS has been saying on stage that ROONEY needs a new home town because PICHER, OKLAHOMA no longer exists. The citizens voted to dissolve the town in 2009.
Before the FLATTS concert on FRIDAY night (2/10), in BIRMINGHAM, WZZK staffers delivered the official proclamation, signed by MAYOR BELL, making ROONEY a “SON OF BIRMINGHAM."
