The EUROPEAN lobbying group for independent record labels, IMPALA, has officially asked the EUROPEAN UNION to block the sale of EMI MUSIC to UNIVERSAL MUSIC GROUP.
BLOOMBERG reports "IMPALA expects an 'outright rejection' of the deal by E.U. regulators, the group said today in an e-mailed statement. 'Keeping the online market as open as possible is essential for competition,' IMPALA said."
