CBS RADIO announced MICHAEL MARTIN has been named as VP/Top 40 Programming. In this new role, MARTIN will guide CBS RADIO's Top 40 strategy and preside over the format currently being broadcast on 10 stations across the nation, including outlets in four of the Top 5 markets. The appointment is effective immediately.
MARTIN will maintain his responsibilities as VP/Programming for CBS RADIO/SAN FRANCISCO's music stations, as well as PD of KMVQ (99.7 NOW), KLLC (ALICE @97.3) and KITS (LIVE 105). In addition, MARTIN has also been overseeing the on-air presentation of Top 40 WXRK (92.3 NOW)/NEW YORK while the company looks to name a new PD.
"MICHAEL has done a tremendous job growing the audiences for our SAN FRANCISCO stations, and transitioned 99.7 NOW into a top performer in the market," said SVP/Programming GREG STRASSELL. "He's already worked with a number of our Top 40 stations, providing the kind of insight that can only come from someone who has first hand experience creating incredibly successful stations. We welcome his influence on our entire portfolio of Top 40 properties."
