CLEAR CHANNEL Top 40/Mainstream WFLZ/TAMPA BAY has named SCOTTY DAVIS as its new afternoon-drive host, airing from 4-7p. He'll also do SATURDAYS from 10a-2p, effective MONDAY, FEB. 27th. DAVIS will replace The KANE Show, which recently moved to weekday mornings.
"SCOTTY has been at the top of my radar for years. He’s upbeat, positive, friendly, funny, interactive and totally plugged into pop culture," PD TOMMY CHUCK said. "The KANE Show in the afternoon has been our highest performing and most consistent daypart. I’m extremely confident that with SCOTTY DAVIS picking up the reigns our domination will continue."
"SCOTTY is an extremely talented host that instills a ton of fun and an unpredictable element into his shows," CCME/TAMPA BAY OM DOUG HAMAND said. "His imagination takes you on a journey which is a very fun ride and is incredibly refreshing to hear on the radio.”
"I’ve dreamed of working at WFLZ since its POWER PIG days," DAVIS said. "It’s beyond comprehension that I get to work at such a great station with truly tremendous people. I’d like to thank everyone who made this possible, especially TOMMY CHUCK and DOUG HAMAND. I can’t wait to finally be able to work with my good friend KANE and the rest of the talented CLEAR CHANNEL/TAMPA BAY team."
