February 27, 2012 at 3:45 AM (PT)
CUMULUS News KGO-A/SAN FRANCISCO is shuffling its weekend lineup. The station claims it "is reacting to listener feedback by offering a larger focus on local news, the launch of an innovative cooking show with RYAN SCOTT as well as a locally focused, interactive show featuring the boldly opinionated TIM MONTEMAYOR."
Specifically, "Cooking with RYAN SCOTT" debuts SATURDAY from 4-6p; the SAN FRANCISCO resident is a former a contestant on BRAVO’s "Top Chef." "The MONTY Show" will air SATURDAY and SUNDAY from 10a-1p with the self-proclaimed "news junkie" after "KGO News Saturday" from 5-10a and before advice from consumer reporter MICHAEL FINNEY from 1-4p. Longtime news host PAT THURSTON holds down 6-9p, with the KAREL Show moving to 9p-midnight.
SUNDAY’s lineup feature "God Talk" with BRENT WALTERS from 5-8a, the "“On The Go" travel show featuring JOHN HAMILTON from 8-10a, The MONTY Show, then BRIAN COPELAND from 1-4p., PAT THURSTON from 4-7p and the KAREL Show from 7-10p.
"We listened to the feedback from our audience and the overwhelming response asked for more local news and original programming," KGO News Dir. and PD PAUL HOSLEY said. "With that in mind, we are excited to launch expanded weekend news coverage and new original programs ‘Cooking with RYAN SCOTT’ and ‘The MONTY Show’."
