A HARRIS INTERACTIVE poll of 2,016 adults ranks American's favorite and least-favorite current affairs personalities, and the favorites list is topped by ABC NEWS' DIANE SAWYER at 23%. PREMIERE NETWORKS radio hosts RUSH LIMBAUGH (9%) and SEAN HANNITY (9%) trail several TV personalities. On the negative list, LIMBAUGH is the leader with 46% turning thumbs-down, followed by FOX NEWS CHANNEL and COURTSIDE ENTERTAINMENT GROUP's BILL O'REILLY at 31%. HANNITY is further back at 14%, with former AIR AMERICA RADIO host RACHEL MADDOW at 7%.
Republican respondents liked O'REILLY (29%), HANNITY (25%) and LIMBAUGH (22%) more, while Democrats and independents favor SAWYER (28% and 25% respectively), CNN's ANDERSON COOPER (24% and 21%), and NBC's BRIAN WILLIAMS (24% and 20%).
LIMBAUGH is in the top-three least liked for all political positions, placing second to HLN's NANCY GRACE for Republicans and in the "lead" for Democrats and Republicans, with O'REILLY second for both and HANNITY third for Democrats.
HARRIS' analysis notes that some personalities are intended to provoke partisan controversy and each has a core audience and another group that "would never watch them -- and most are just fine with that."
