WLDI's Jason Waterlogged After Failed Stunt Attempt

It seemed easy enough to CLEAR CHANNEL Top 40 WLDI (WILD 95.5)/WEST PALM BEACH morning co-host JASON... cannonball into the INTERCOASTAL WATERWAY and swim 250 yards to PEANUT ISLAND. But "Mother nature got the best of me," said JASON, who told the SOUTH FLORIDA SUN SENTINAL that the swim, which was part of the station's "Wildquest 3" contest, "got to the point where I was swimming in the same spot. My body was giving up."
Luckily, a couple of PALM BEACH COUNTY sheriff's deputies who are part of the marine unit listen to the morning show on their way to work, and they decided to show up at the promotion. "The minute he jumped in the water, you could tell he wasn't a good swimmer," said Deputy RAY GRIFFITH. His partner JOE POLLOCK offered JASON a raft but he wasn't interested the first time around. "It wasn't a minute later that he went under and I threw it again," POLLOCK said of JASON, who told the deputies that his legs felt like rubber bands as he caught his breath in their boat.
