BONNEVILLE Talk KIRO-F/SEATTLE has added a new show on local music, "SEATTLE SOUNDS," in partnership with SEATTLE WEEKLY. The show, which will talk about and feature local acts and live performances, will be hosted by JOSH KERNS and SEATTLE WEEKLY music editor CHRIS KORNELIS and will air SUNDAYs 3-4p (PT).
"We are very excited to team up with SEATTLE WEEKLY to give music fans in the Northwest a weekly conversation about what's new, what's trending and what's worth checking out when it comes to the local music scene," said PD LARRY GIFFORD. "It is a terrific addition to 97.3 KIRO FM's All New 'Learn, Laugh, Relax Weekend lineup.'"
SEATTLE WEEKLY Publisher KENNY STOCKER said, "It's exciting to bring a music show to a station with such a vast geographic and diverse audience appeal."
KORNELIS said, "It's been a blast getting to know and working with the KIRO staff. They don't call them personalities for nothing. I'm excited to be in the fold, and look forward to competing with (afternoon co-host) DON O'NEILL in the station's first annual swaddling competition."
KERNS said, "There are plenty of places to listen to music, but we created SEATTLE SOUNDS to tell the stories and take listeners inside our vibrant music scene. There are so many amazing people and stories to discover regardless of the kind of music you listen to. We love everything from indy pop to arena rock, and each show is a journey of discovery for us and the listeners, whether you're an avid club goer or just a casual music fan. And there's no better way than combining the strengths and experience of the music lovers at SEATTLE WEEKLY and 97.3 KIRO FM."
