Hearing Set On Paul Finebaum's Motion To Dismiss Cumulus/Citadel Counterclaims

A hearing has been set for MARCH 30th to consider a motion by PAUL FINEBAUM to dismiss CUMULUS/CITADEL's counterclaims against him in the legal dispute between the CUMULUS Sports WJOX/BIRMINGHAM and syndicated afternoon host and the owner of his station.
The BIRMINGHAM BUSINESS JOURNAL reports that JEFFERSON COUNTY Circuit Judge ROBERT VANCE recently set the hearing date, and that CITADEL moved this week to block FINEBAUM from subpoenaing CUMULUS officials (because CUMULUS did not own the CITADEL stations at the time of the dispute).
FINEBAUM is suing CITADEL alleging that the company used coercion to get him to sign an unfavorable amendment to his contract and threatened to cancel his show if he did not sign. COX MEDIA GROUP has widely been reported to be interested in having FINEBAUM join its Sports WZNN (97.3 THE ZONE)/BIRMINGHAM if he can extricate himself from his WJOX contract.
