Lender KATHLEEN SCHAEFER MCQUEEN is acquiring LIBERTY ACQUISITIONS 825 LC, permittee of WGMP/COOSADA, AL, from JOSEPH WORTLEY for $100,000 pursuant to a "call agreement" from 2011. The new station is subject to an LMA to BLUEWATER BROADCASTING CO. which will take effect on MARCH 1, 2013 with the expiration of BLUEWATER's LMA of Talk WMRK-F/SHORTER, AL from ALEXANDER BROADCASTING.
In other filings with the FCC, WAY MEDIA, INC. has applied for a Silent STA for FM translator W233AF/HENDERSONVILLE, TN due to displacement and the need to construct new facilities for a different frequency.
EDUCATIONAL MEDIA FOUNDATION has applied for a Silent STA for FM translator K251BB/MARSHALLTOWN, IA due to technical problems.
EMF has also been granted a major change for its Contemporary Christian KVLZ (K-LOVE)/SHERIDAN, WY that will see the station move from its present Class A facility in WYOMING all the way to DETROIT suburb ROCHESTER HILLS, MI with 1,200 watts at 174 feet above average terrain, with a directional signal mostly covering the market's northern suburban areas.
And although the closing has not been reported in the FCC database yet, MERLIN MEDIA has closed on the purchase of Religion WKDN/CAMDEN-PHILADELPHIA from FAMILY RADIO for $22.5 million. FAMILY RADIO will continue to air its programming on the signal under an LMA while MERLIN works to build its own programming and facilities.
