Chicago Journalist, WBBM Personality John Madigan Dies At 94

Condolences to family and friends of CHICAGO journalist JOHN MADIGAN, who died MONDAY (3/5) in FLORIDA of complications following a stroke, reports the CHICAGO TRIBUNE. He was 94.
MADIGAN started in journalism before WORLD WAR II as a copy boy at HEARST's CHICAGO AMERICAN, then, after serving in the military, returned to reporting, moving in the 1950s to NEWSWEEK, returning to CHICAGO in 1960 as News Director of CBS O&O WBBM-TV. He later moved to radio as political editor, commentator, and host at CBS sister News WBBM-A. MADIGAN retired in 1998 but later served as Press Officer for the ILLINOIS Supreme Court and continued to host "AT ISSUE" on WBBM.
Among his survivors is his daughter, actress AMY MADIGAN.
