NEW YORK's new 1,776-foot ONE WORLD TRADE CENTER is proposing to build a broadcast antenna, and get broadcasters to move from their current location atop THE EMPIRE STATE BUILDING. 1 WTC, which is currently under construction, is set to be finished in 2013.
"The SVP of THE DURST ORGANIZATION, THOMAS BOW, tells THE WALL STREET JOURNAL the development firm wants the tower to become the premiere broadcast facility in NEW YORK CITY, just like the original towers had been before the terrorist attacks in 2001."
DURST told WSJ that the company "expects to be able to take in about $10 million a year in rents and fees from potential broadcasters."
