CMT.COM has launched a new online performance series CONCRETE COUNTRY, giving a home to performances by Alt-Country and Roots artists like LYDIA LOVELESS and THE FAREWELL DRIFTERS. Filmed in NASHVILLE, CONCRETE COUNTRY will highlight independent singer/songwriters performing their original songs on a downtown sidewalk.
CMT is also prepping the launch of a new blog CMT EDGE dedicated to “music discovery, highlighting roots musicians.” CMT EDGE will be curated by CMT.COM Writer/Producer CRAIG SHELBURNE, and is expected to launch in SUMMER 2012.
“It’s not just our job. We’re as passionate as our fans are about finding the best new artists, whether they’re performing in a club, garage or on the sidewalk like CONCRETE COUNTRY,” said VP CMT.COM MARTIN CLAYTON. “We want Country fans to think of CMT.COM first when they’re looking for new music, from the superstars to an entire untapped genre of Alt-Country, Roots musicians.”
Other CONCRETE COUNTRY artists scheduled to debut this spring include CAITLIN ROSE, JASON BOLAND, WILL HOGE and ROBERT ELLIS.
